Privacy Notice
Last updated: September 2026
Hum is the controller of personal data processed through thisishum.com. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to hello@thisishum.com.
Information we collect
We process account information such as your name, email address, encrypted password, membership status, credit balance, projects, downloads, and transaction references. When you contact us, we process the information in your message. We also process limited technical and security information, such as IP address, request time, and browser or server logs.
Why we use it
We use personal data to create and secure accounts, provide trials and licensed downloads, process and administer purchases, answer enquiries, prevent misuse, maintain the service, and comply with accounting or legal obligations. The applicable legal bases may include performing our contract with you, complying with law, and our legitimate interests in operating and securing Hum.
Payments and service providers
Payments are handled by Stripe. Hum does not store complete card numbers. We may share only the data needed to provide the service with payment, hosting, infrastructure, and email providers. Those providers process data under their own terms and safeguards. Some providers may process data outside your country using legally recognised transfer safeguards where required.
Retention
Account and licensing records are kept while the account is active and afterwards when needed to establish license history, meet tax or accounting duties, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. Contact messages and technical logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for support, security, and service administration. Password-reset and verification links expire automatically.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of your personal data. You can export account data or request account deletion from My Hum. You may also contact us by email. You have the right to complain to the data-protection authority that applies to you.
Cookies and security
Hum uses essential session cookies to keep users signed in and protect authenticated actions. We do not use those cookies for advertising. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this notice when the service or legal requirements change. The date above shows the latest revision.
